While Frozen 2’s international gross is staggering, the Frozen franchise doesn’t seem to hold the same power in the U.S. Toppling the Toy Story films domestically, however, will be much more difficult. After that, it’ll be a slow, steady march towards Disney’s first Frozen film (which it will eventually catch) and a long, arduous march towards The Lion King (which it’ll probably never catch). That means Frozen 2 should be able to catch both Toy Story films by this time next week-or, at the very least, by the end of the year.
